The Gables Taupo
From the moment we checked in, the staff were so welcoming and showed us to our room. The one bedroom studio is huge, and very well maintained. Bathroom updated and clean, we had the spa room which was great to unwind in. The views were incredible and amazing value for what we got! Thank you for making the stay fantastic, the homemade shortbread was just the start of the care and insight this motel gives towards its customers!

Chill by the lake
I stayed here for one night just passing through taupo. The room was clean and well maintained, everything was well stocked and the bed was comfortable. Only a short 20 second walk across the road for a cool dip in the lake, and then warming back up in the family spa room was nice as well. There were plenty of towels provided too. The view was so good out of the front doors of my room, and it was a peaceful stay with the faint sound of the waves crashing on the shore.

Unbeatable value for money!
Beautiful, peaceful resort within close proximity to everything you'd need - the local Woolworths', gas stations, local shops, bars, restaurants and cafes.The property itself is stunning - the lake, walkway and mountains can be seen from your main windows, the hosts are personable and hospitable - they went above and beyond to make our stay that extra bit special (home baked shortbread and calling ahead to see when we'd check in so they could turn the heating in our room on before we arrived so our apartment would be cosy, and the prviate spa was ready to go the second we arrived!). The apartment was spotless and spacious and very well maintained. You'd be hard pressed to find a place that offers better value for your money.

A comfortable family stay
We stayed for one night as a family of four. Our room was comfortable and well appointed. The home made cookies on arrival was a nice touch. Directly opposite the lake. Plenty of parking on site.

Excellent views, clean and hygenic room and lovely people
I have stayed at many motels across New Zealand, but this is the only place that I did not find a single thing to complain about!! The owners are very friendly and helpful people, and the room is very clean, spacious, comfortable and very very livable. It is the best motel that I have stayed at in this country.

Great waterfront location
Very friendly staff, great waterfront location, spacious and clean rooms, nice hot tub add-on, some thoughtful features like night light in the bathroom. Beach towels were provided in addition to normal towels. Short walk along the lake to restaurants and shops. Highly recommended and will visit again!

Cosy spot on the lakefront, short walk to town
Stayed here for the Taupo Ironman with a few friends. It is located right on the lake front and is only a short walk to town. Comfortable rooms with friendly staff on hand if you need them. Would highly recommend staying here and will plan on staying here again. Plenty of parking also.

Great!
We spent 3 nights here, and everything was perfect. The room and bathroom were very clean and big enough. Location is great, you can just cross the road for a swim, and it's a short distance to cafes and restaurants. Parking is available, and there's the possibility to do laundry if needed. A couple is running the place, and the owner did our check in. He was very nice and gave us advice on what to do in the area. Would recommend a 100%.

Amazing spot right on the lake!
We stayed for 2 nights and had a fantastic time. The couple that runs this place has the
most friendly service and really made us feel welcome and at home. The units themselves had
everything we needed to be extremely comfortable, cook meals, and enjoy a dip in the hot
tub. The location is great just across from the lake with easy access to the beach and just
a short walk to town. We will definitely stay here again on a future visit!

Great stay in Taupo!
Hotel was clean, hosts were great. Great location for the 70.3 worlds. We loved watching the
sunsets, walking distance from all type of shops (ice cream, coffees, supermarket). Lake
Taupo was more than warm enough to have a few dips, kids loved it. And there are a lot to do
around Taupo for families. Well worth a trip!

Cosy, clean and great facilities
The room was immaculately clean! The facilities in the room were great, really cozy and in a
great location right by the waterfront . The staff were really helpful and welcoming, would
definitely recommend staying here if you’re visiting Taupo!

Beautiful lakeview rooms; Amazing hosts
The property is right across the lake, and Franklyn and Kavita are the perfect hosts. We
booked a one bedroom suite with a private hot pool. The suite comes with a living room that
has a sofa that converts into a bed, a separate bedroom with a double bed, and a covered
courtyard behind the bedroom that has the hot tub. The small kitchenette is helpful to whip
up a quick meal or do some basic cooking. The bathroom is quite spacious and very modern.
With plenty of parking, this is one of the best places to stay in Taupo. Nearly all of the
rooms have a view of the lake. Both Kavita and Franklyn are passionate about hosting people,
and it was great to have long conversations with them. I can't wait to be back again, albeit
for a longer time.

the room was good and spacious and clean with a lovely view of the lake and would have liked

More than Delighted
We won’t be staying anywhere else in Taupo after staying here. Our room had the
delightful appeal of a stylish modern apartment. The view of the mountains and lake from
our lounge were stunningly beautiful and our bedroom was quiet with the most comfortable
bed.. we both slept very well. A stylish kitchen and bathroom with all the accessories
you need.. our own sparkling clean private hot pool outside our room. A brilliant
lakeside location with safe parking and wonderful Hosts. This is a quality and
affordable Stay, and we were more than delighted.

Great accommodation with lake views
Fantastic place to stay in Taupo. We stayed 3 nights and loved that we could see Lake
Taupo from our room and walk into town in around 15 minutes. Our room had everything we
needed and was comfortable and spotlessly clean. We also loved the home-baked biscuits
waiting for us on arrival.

friends over the January holidays from the moment we arrived, we were greeted with

Brilliant location .. comfy, clean modern motel room ..separate quiet bedroom with a

Wonderful accommodation with fabulous outlook
What a wonderful find in Taupo! Fabulous accommodation in a stunning location. A real
little gem! A lovely friendly welcome by owners who couldn’t do enough for us.
Accommodation excellent and absolutely spotless. Bathroom and kitchenette very well
equipped with everything you need. Would have been great to stay longer but had to move
on. Great base for visiting area. Something to see and do in each direction.
The outlook absolutely fabulous and we had a welcome dip in the beautiful Lake T. Thank

Great place to stay with views of Lake Taupo!
The Gables is owner operated and an excellent place to stay with views of lake taupō. We
were warmly greeted by Franky and his Wife. Franky showed us to the room which was
immaculately clean and told us to make sure to eat the biscuits which his wife had baked
and they were delicious!
